The first European round this season, played in Spain at the Catalunya circuit, was taken by Lewis Hamilton.
The Sunday race was again dominated by Mercedes, which for the fifth time won the double.
Although Valtteri Bottas competed from Pole Position, Fina was soon ahead of his team partner.
Hamilton had a great start and from the very beginning to the finish he ran the entire stake.
On the 46th lap there was contact between Lancel Stroll and Lando Norris.
The Canadian did not leave too much room for the opponent, which eventually led to a collision.
They both landed in the gravel, from which they could not get out. In connection with this, a Security Car left for the circuit, which controlled the race for several laps.
After his exit on the track, the fight began in the middle of the stakes - Romain Grosjean tried to overtake Kevin Magnussen, but was pushed out by the Danish player, which forced the Frenchman to let go.
At the end of the competition Grosjean had to struggle with the tires, which made him only one point.
To the finish line - in the end - Lewis Hamilton came first, followed by Valtteri Bottas and Max Verstappen. Robert Kubica was eighteenth.
It is worth mentioning, however, that the Pole, just after the start, rode in front of George Russell and Antonio Giovinazzi.
These, however, turned out to be better a moment later.
